Innovation by young people

In a bid to discover Canada’s best young computer scientist, develop healthy competitive skills as well as improve youth’s self esteem together with creating pride in academic achievement. An ICT competition called National ICT Olympiad was designed which is opened to junior and senior high school students in Canada. The Olympiad is an annual event that hopes to be included in the education calendar
The first edition of the National ICT Olympiad will be restricted to the province of Ontario. This edition will involve both public and private high school students. The province been the most cosmopolitan, populous and pace setter in innovation is the most ideal for this edition.

Pre – Audition Stage

1st Stage

Registrations and Test Practise

Participating students are to register on the Olympiad platform, where they also get to practice questions and get acquainted with the interface.

  • Register and create your profile on the Olympiad platform.
  • IntegrityTake the test practice questions as many times as you want.
  • The Olympiad team will go on a visit to selected schools to raise awareness on the benefits of STEM education.

P re – Audition Aptitude Test

Participating students .

  • Test is based on binary numbers and general computing aptitude.
  • Students who score above the cut off mark will proceed to the auditions
  • Participants will receive a certificate of participation after the completion of the aptitude test.

Eligibility For Auditions.

  • Participant must have taken part in the aptitude test and have a score above the cut off mark.
  • Participants are to present their idea or project to the judges and audience.
  • Participants proceed from here to the finals/ bootcamp stage .

Judges

Criteria for selection as a judge .

  • Judges are demonstrably independent especially from competition organisers and intermediaries of participants.
  • Judges selected are competent, experienced and have the appropriate industry skill set.
  • Judges are to work strictly within the framework of rules set by the competition.

Activities For The Final

The final activity will include an assessment designed to evaluate participants’ understanding of the course material. This may involve written tasks, practical exercises, or problem-solving activities to measure overall performance and mastery.
